![]() I'm not talking about getting a game on itch tomorrow (prob more like a year or 2), I just want to optimize my habits right out of the gate. If you don't get GZDoom and just straight up mount the ISO and Run SETUP.EXE, If you run the Doom95.exe file after downloading the game, the screen will be in the top left squished and it's colors Black And White, I have no Idea how to fix this so either download GZDoom and get either the doom.wad I provided and paste it in GZDoom's main Directory, or get the doom2.wad file from the Doom 2. I'm trying to figure out if I'm just still too new to the DOOM Modding dev environment, and fumbling proper setup, or if this is typical and I should feel safe using DOOM 2 as my base resource. This is not the case if I run DOOM 2 as my base resource. Each time I've tried to use Freedoom as my base resource in my map editor (using Slade3) I won't have any trouble, say, getting a custom weapon to appear, but it ignores the custom map I'm trying to test. From the rudimentary research I've done, even if I attempt to create custom maps, textures, and all aspects with personally developed original assets, if I use Doom 2 as my base I run a risk of having some nonfree asset sneaking in and getting in trouble for it. My thinking is, well I want to use Slade3 with Freedoom as my base resource. ipk3 that is properly defined will not launch in GZDoom unless it is selected in the IWAD box. those without a deeper understanding of DOOM modding, custom ZDOOM usage, etc). We do not support this option though, so if you experience any. So let's say, hypothetically, I want to create a DOOM modding environment where after a year or two of work, I have a small game I'd like to wrap with GZDoom for distribution over Itch.io to be played by anyone (i.e. ipk3 to your GZDoom directory, launch GZDoom.exe and choose Blade of Agony as your game (IWAD). I've found this forum post a few times searching the web, trying to do some troubleshooting, so while this might seem to veer from the topic at hand, it might be helpful for some (namely: me). Every WAD hes made is incredibly fun to play, so his GZDoom WADs are a shoo-in for this space Next up is his Magnum Opus, The Ultimate Torment & Torture, A.
